102 more policemen to man Pangasinan COVID-19 border checkpoints

DAGUPAN CITY—At least 102 more policemen arrived in Pangasinan on Wednesday (April 14) as reinforcement to those already manning border checkpoints in the province that had been set up in response to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

The additional policemen had been deployed to 20 border checkpoints to strictly enforce health protocol to prevent the spread of SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, according to Maj. Jayr Melchor, police provincial information officer.

Executive Order No. 27- 2021 of the provincial government prohibits nonessential travel of people from the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and the National Capital Region into Pangasinan.

In La Union, the provincial government strictly requires travellers to present certificates of vaccine completion or negative coronavirus test results for entry.

FEATURED STORIES

Cargo truck drivers passing through the province need not present negative test results but must show delivery manifest or similar documents and stay in the province for not longer than three hours.
