A lawmaker in Canada apologized for appearing naked in a virtual legislative meeting yesterday, April 14, claiming he accidentally turned on his camera while changing clothes.
Federal parliament member William Amos can be seen naked in a photo obtained by National Post’s reporter Christopher Nardi, as seen on Nardi’s Twitter page today, April 15. Amos stood behind a desk flanked by the flags of Canada and Quebec and his private parts were covered by what appears to be a cellphone.
“For those wondering, the MP who appeared in his simplest attire is in fact Pontiac Liberal MP William Amos,” Nardi confirmed as he compared photos from the Zoom meeting and an earlier interview that he had with Amos.

The Quebec representative later apologized for the incident, saying that it was not intentional and an “unfortunate mistake.”
“Obviously I’m embarrassed by it. My camera was accidentally left on as I changed into work clothes after going for a jog. I sincerely apologize to all my colleagues,” he said as he vowed that it will not happen again.

Since Amos did not speak during the session, the gaffe did not appear in a publicly available video feed. But it was seen by members of the parliament and their staffers through an internal conference feed, according to Winnipeg Sun in a report yesterday, April 14.
House speaker Anthony Rota reminded all members of the parliament to be vigilant when they are near a camera and microphone. Party whip Claude DeBellefuille also suggested that males should wear formal wear during sessions — including underwear. JB
