Cenro specialist shot dead in Cagayan
MANILA, Philippines—A Community Environment and Natural Resources (Cenro) specialist was shot dead by a still unidentified suspect inside her office in Cagayan Tuesday evening, a Philippine National Police spokesman said.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that Cenro Specialist 2 Melania Bitlon Dirain, 46, was shot inside her office in Cenro Building at Sanchez Mira, Cagayan province at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday.
He said that four empty shells and three deformed slugs from a caliber .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
Cruz said that further investigation was underway to determine the motive behind the killing and for possible identification and arrest of the suspect.
