COVID-19 hits rural health unit in Zambales; vaccinations delayed

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A worker of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) in Castillejos town had tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), forcing the center to limit the service it would render to residents, authorities said on Saturday (April 10).

In an advisory, the RHU said all of its other workers who had been exposed to the virus-infected staff member were immediately quarantined.

Due to the infection, the RHU said its COVID-19 vaccination would be temporarily delayed, along with other services that include prenatal check-up, rountine children’s vaccination and tuberculosis treatment.

But it would remain open for other essential health services like distribution of maintenance medicines.
