Isabela’s Jones town under hard GCQ due to infection spike
JONES, Isabela – This Isabela town has been placed under a hard general community quarantine until the end of April, after its active coronavirus cases jumped to 134 on Saturday.
The spike in active cases has hiked Jones’ total number of recorded infections to 358.
Mayor Leticia Sebastian had ordered aggressive testing and contact tracing, and directed the disinfection of the municipal hall and other buildings.
The town’s registration center, municipal feeding center and sports complex have been locked down. Schools were also placed under lockdown by the Department of Education.
Only authorized persons outside residence (Apor) such as essential workers have been allowed to leave their residences. But designated members of each household are allowed to undertake food, medicine and supply runs.
Nel Dansalan, a security guard at the public market, said they require all market goers to practice minimum health protocols such as wearing masks and face shields. VILLAMOR VISAYA JR.
