Negros Occidental restricts rules on mass gatherings

/ 11:06 AM April 09, 2021

BACOLOD CITY – Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has issued an executive order on Thursday, April 8, implementing stringent measures on mass gatherings in order to curb the current surge in COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental.

Lacson, in Executive Order No. 21-21, ordered that mass gatherings will be allowed up to only 30 percent of the venue capacity instead of the 50 percent allowed under modified general community quarantine.

Lockdowns, he said, will also be limited to specific areas within the respective local governments and should not include national roads.

Lacson said each local government will have the discretion to declare localized and targeted lockdowns within their jurisdictions.

Negros Occidental is currently under modified general community quarantine.
