LEGAZPI CITY — An alleged big-time drug pusher was killed and another person was arrested in separate operations that netted P1.6 million worth of suspected “shabu” in Camarines Sur, police said Friday.
Ronitz Ybañez, 43, was killed during a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) San Agustin, Pili town at around 8:18 a.m. Thursday, Police Colonel Bernardo Perez, Camarines Sur police director, said in a report.
According to the police report, it was after Ybañez had sold 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P500,000 that he realized he was transacting with a police officer and drew a .38 caliber revolver from his handbag and shot the cop but missed.
Perez said another operative retaliated and killed Ybañez.
Authorities recovered bullets and heat-sealed sachets containing alleged illegal drugs with a total estimated value of P1.5 million.
In Baao town, Oliver Badong, 38, was arrested in a search operation in Barangay San Vicente at around 1:30 p.m. also Thursday.
Recovered from Badong, who was on the illegal drugs watchlist, were 15 grams of shabu worth P100,000 and other drug tools. INQ
