MANILA, Philippines — A total of 63,346 individuals have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the city of Manila, according to the local government unit (LGU).
The figure as of April 8 is composed of health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities, although the LGU has yet to provide a breakdown of the number of individuals from these priority sectors who have been inoculated.
Information from the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) on Friday also showed there was a total of 11,881 vaccines administered on Thursday, the highest number of administered jabs in the city for a day.
The MPIO said the vaccines were given to 2,361 frontline workers who got their second dose, 5,607 senior citizens who got their first dose, and 3,913 persons with comorbidities who received their first dose.
The local government continues to encourage those in the priority sectors to get vaccinated especially with the limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines in the country.

Nationwide, a total of 922,898 COVID-19 vaccine doses have so far been administered as of April 6. Of this number, 872,213 were given as the first dose while 50,685 were provided as the second dose.
Meanwhile, 77 percent or 1,936,600 of the available 2.5 million vaccine doses in the country have been distributed across 2,670 vaccination sites.
