COVID-19 beds in Manila hospitals 67% full

MANILA, Philippines — Beds in hospitals in Manila City for COVID-19 patients are already 67% occupied, with some hospitals nearing and are already at full capacity.

Based on data shared by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Wednesday, out of the 523 beds meant for COVID-19 patients, 351 are already occupied as of Wednesday, April 7.

The data did not specify how many beds in the intensive care units (ICUs) catering to severe or critical COVID-19 cases.

The following is the breakdown of COVID-19 bed occupancy across six district hospitals in the city:

Meanwhile, beds in COVID-19 quarantine facilities in the city are already 54% full, with 470 beds occupied from 870-bed capacity.

Quarantine facilities for suspect cases of COVID-19 are 83% full, according to the data.

As of 12 noon on Wednesday, Manila City has 4,085 active COVID-19 cases, 41,060 recovered patients, 941 deaths, and 647 suspect cases.

This makes the total COVID-19 cases in the city 46,086.
