Jinggoy clarifies: Erap is not dead

Estrada shocked over Manila’s P4.3B cash deficit: I left P10.3B excess funds

MANILA, Philippines — Social media posts claiming that former President Joseph Estrada has died are not true, his son former Senator Jinggoy Estrada clarified Sunday.

“There are reports circulating on FB that my father has passed away. This is NOT true,” the former lawmaker said in a Facebook post.

The older Estrada, who also served as Manila mayor, earlier tested positive for COVID-19 but was in a stable condition.

Jinggoy said his father was rushed to the hospital on March 28 due to body weakness.

Another son of Estrada, former Senator JV Ejercito, added that his father was forced to stay overnight at the hospital’s emergency room because there was no available room for him at that time.
