Duterte to decide quarantine classifications for NCR, 4 provinces on Saturday — Palace
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is set to decide on the upcoming quarantine classifications of Metro Manila and four adjacent provinces on Saturday, Palace spokesman Harry Roque announced.
In a text message to INQUIRER.net, Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has an “ongoing” meeting on the quarantine classifications.
Currently, Metro Manila and its four adjacent provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal, are under a one-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.
The ECQ period is set to end on Sunday, April 4.
Previously, both the Department of Health and the OCTA Research group recommended an extension of the ECQ for one more week amid a surge in COVID-19 cases.
