While giving authorities fake names is most often a bad idea, a suspected drug dealer got himself arrested after the fake name he gave police turned out to have outstanding warrants.
Leading to the man’s arrest, a trooper initially saw a car pulled over to the side of the road in Michigan, USA, as per MLive on March 29. When the trooper turned his emergency lights on, the passenger immediately ducked down.
The trooper then approached the parked vehicle that had a female driver and a male passenger, whose names are currently withheld while no charges have been officially approved. The trooper asked for their names and after running them, he discovered that the male had an outstanding warrant.
The trooper arrested the man and found that he was carrying around 27 grams of methamphetamine, a scale, small baggies and cash, according to the report.
After getting the man’s fingerprints, police found out that the name he gave was not his real one, although it just turned out that that person who owns the name was also wanted.
Authorities have since booked the man into the Wexford County Jail, where he was discovered to have smuggled more drugs into during processing.
Police have since requested the county prosecutor to approve charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, smuggling drugs into jail and lying to a peace officer, the report said. Ian Biong /ra
