MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has suspended voter registration in areas covered by the “NCR Plus” bubble from March 29 to 31 due to the imposition of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), its spokesperson James Jimenez said.

“Due to the reimposition of ECQ, work in COMELEC offices in NCR+ including filing/reception of applications for #VoterReg2021 and other registration services shall be SUSPENDED from 29 to 31 March 2021. #WalangRehistro,” Jimenez said in a tweet on Sunday night.

The NCR Plus, which covers Metro Manila and the four adjacent provinces of Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna, was earlier placed under ECQ starting March 29 until April 4 due to rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Voter registration ends on September 30, 2021.
