Traffic rerouting scheme set for Rizal Park program

The Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit yesterday issued a traffic advisory in relation to the observance of the 113th Independence Day in Manila today.

The celebrations start with flag-raising and wreath-laying rites at the Rizal Park and Rizal Monument from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. From 12 noon onwards, there will be a civic and military parade. As such, a stretch of Roxas Boulevard’s north and southbound lanes from Katigbak to T.M. Kalaw streets will be closed to traffic.

Following is the rerouting scheme drawn up between 6 and 9 a.m.:

All vehicles traveling southward coming from Del Pan Bridge-Pier Zone shall turn left to P. Burgos, right to Ma. Orosa to point of destination.

All vehicles traveling northward along Roxas Blvd. shall turn right to T.M. Kalaw to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from McArthur, Jones and Quezon Bridges intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. from P. Burgos shall take Round Table, take Ma. Orosa to point of destination.

All cargo trucks traveling Osmeña Highway shall turn right to Pres. Quirino Ave., straight ahead to Nagtahan, AH Lacson, Yuseco St., crossing Jose Abad Santos straight Raxabago, Capulong to point of destination (vice versa).

Closure of the following roads from 12 noon onwards due to civic and military parade:

Stretch of Roxas Blvd. and Bonifacio Drive north and southbound from Anda Circle to Pres. Quirino

Stretch of P. Burgos east and west bound from Roxas Blvd. to Ma. Orosa

Stretch of T.M. Kalaw east and westbound from Roxas Blvd. to M.H. del Pilar

Finance Road/Taft Avenue

Lagusnilad/P. Burgos

Rerouting scheme is as follows:
All vehicles traveling northward along Roxas Blvd. shall turn right to Pres. Quirino to point of destination.

All cargo trucks traveling on Osmeña Highway shall turn right to President Quirino Ave., straight ahead to Nagtahan, AH Lacson, Yuseco St., crossing Jose Abad Santos straight Raxabago, Capulong to point of destination (vice versa).

All vehicles coming from Pier Zone/northern part of Manila intending to utilize the stretch of Bonifacio Drive/Roxas Blvd. shall turn left to A. Soriano to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from Jones, McArthur and Quezon bridges intending to use Roxas Boulevard shall go straight to Taft Avenue, turn right to President Quirino to point of destination.

PUJs/other vehicles intending to proceed to Pier South coming from the three bridges shall turn right to Victoria St. to point of destination.
