MANILA, Philippines — The Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has allowed the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) to conduct licensure exams in May and June, Malacañang said Friday.
“Inaprubahan ng IATF ang request ng PRC na magsagawa ng licensure exams for professionals sa Mayo at Hunyo ngayong taon habang estriktong pinatutupad ang health protocols ng Department of Health,” Presidential spokesman Harry Roque announced in a pre-taped interview over Laging Handa public briefing.
(The IATF has approved the request of the PRC to conduct licensure exams for professionals in May and June this year while strictly enforcing health protocols of the Department of Health.)
Examinees in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) are discouraged to travel to areas under the less stringent modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to avoid the spread of COVID-19, Roque said.
Last year, PRC postponed licensure exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
From January to March this year, the PRC also conducted licensure exams after approval by the IATF.
PRC chairman Teofilo Pilando Jr. earlier said the agency has scheduled 101 exams this year to make up for the low number of exams conducted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
