MMDA installs granulator equipment to address solid waste problems

/ 05:08 AM March 19, 2021

In the bid to reduce flooding, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday installed its first ever granulator and brick-making facility that will reduce solid waste that usually ends up at pumping stations.

MMDA chair Benhur Abalos Jr. said the installation of the equipment at the Vitas pumping station in Tondo, Manila, would prolong the service life of landfills as it would avert damage brought about by garbage on waterways.
