PNP press corps office locked down for disinfection

MANILA Philippines — The office of the Philippine National Police Press Corps was indefinitely closed for disinfection on Wednesday after a cameraman of a TV network tested positive for COVID-19.

PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana advised the personnel of PNP public information office as well as media members who had direct contact with the cameraman to take swab tests and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

Usana did not say when the office would be re-opened.

As of Wednesday, the PNP has 1,047 active cases of COVID-19, with 167 new infections.

Overall, the national police force has breached the 12,000-mark, with with PNP chief Police Gen. Debold Sinas tested positive for the virus last week.
