PNP records 34th death from COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) tallied its 34th death from the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as cases of infection continued to rise among its ranks. Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the PNP, and 917 other PNP employees remain isolated in different treatment centers around the country.
As of Monday night, the number of infections in the PNP was 12,343, with 918 active cases, 11,391 recovered and 34 deaths.
The latest fatality was a 45-year-old police officer assigned to the PNP Central Luzon legal service. He died on March 14.
