MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine government is set to launch its “vaccine tracker” this week to keep an eye on the progress of the COVID-19 vaccination in the country, Malacañang said Monday.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the launch may happen on Wednesday this week.

“Ilulunsad ang ating vaccine tracker this week. Ang last na advice sa ‘kin, this Wednesday baka mailunsad na ‘yung ating vaccine tracker,” he said in a Palace briefing.

(The vaccine tracker will be launched this week. The last piece of advice to me is it will happen on Wednesday.)

“Sa Wednesday, ilulunsad na natin ‘yung vaccine tracker so antayin natin this week,” he added.

(On Wednesday, the vaccine tracker will be launched so let’s wait for it this week.)

The government started its COVID-19 immunization program on March 1, following the arrival of 600,000 doses of China-donated vaccine doses from Sinovac BioTech.

On March 4, 487,200 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from British-Swede firm AstraZeneca arrived in the country, followed by another set of 38,400 doses that arrived on March 7.

The Philippines has so far administered a total of 193,492 COVID-19 vaccine doses, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.
