DOJ to work with CHR in probe of activists’ deaths

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Sunday said it would work closely with the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) in the investigation of the killings of nine activists in Southern Luzon provinces on March 7.

“We took the initiative to talk to the CHR because we promised the United Nations that we will work more closely with our CHR,” Guevarra said in a radio interview.

“The CHR said it is willing to help the AO-35 committee,” he added, referring to the interagency committee formed to investigate extrajudicial killings.
