BI main office closed on March 15-16 for sanitation, disinfection
MANILA, Philippines — The main office of the Bureau of Immigration will be closed for two days for sanitation and disinfection amid the spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.
In an advisory, the BI said its main office will be temporarily closed on March 15 (Monday) and March 16 (Tuesday).
Clients with confirmed online appointments are advised to re-book once operations resume, and are further advised to check the website at immigration.gov.ph or the bureau’s social media accounts for further announcements.
“The Bureau encourages all officials and employees to stay home during the said period,” the BI said.
“Skeletal workforce arrangement shall continue in offices such as the Medical and Dental Section, Administrative Proper, General Services Section, Property Section, Civil Security Unit, BI National Operations Center (BINOC), Management Information Systems Division and other offices rendering general and critical support services,” the bureau added.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 4,899 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the Philippines’ total to 621,498.
