MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday reported another death among its personnel due to COVID-19, bringing the death toll among the police force to 33.
In a message to reporters, the recent fatality died on Friday, and was assigned to the Regional Headquarters Support Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). He was 54 years old.
Aside from this, the PNP also reported 99 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total cases to 12,162, of which 849 are active cases.
There were also 14 new recoveries, which brings the total recoveries to 11,280.
Previously, the PNP confirmed that its chief Gen. Debold Sinas was infected with COVID-19 and was asymptomatic.
