AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine arrives in Oriental Mindoro

PH set to sign vaccine deal with AstraZeneca

CITY OF CALAPAN – A total of 340 vials of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Oriental Mindoro on Saturday for the inoculation of medical frontliners, the provincial information office said.

Dr. Hubbert Christopher Dolor, officer-in-charge of the Provincial Health Office (PHO), said in a text message Sunday that the vials arrived via roll-on roll-off vessel.

The shipment is good for over 1,600 frontliners.

Dolor, Oriental Mindoro disaster officer Vinscent Gahol, Department of Health representatives and PHO employees received the vaccine shipment.

The vaccine vials were brought to PHO, escorted by Philippine National Police and Philippine Coast Guard personnel, for storage before rollout and vaccination this coming week.

“We rollout on Monday for government hospitals, then Wednesday for private hospitals (who cater to COVID patients),” Dolor added.
