LUCENA CITY – Two drug suspects yielded over P287,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a police operation in Candelaria, Quezon early Saturday.

The Quezon police identified the arrested suspects as Ediser Zamora, 48, and Derick Obcemia, 25, who sold shabu to a police agent in Barangay (village) Mangilag Sur at around 1:30 a.m.

Authorities confiscated three sachets of shabu weighing 14.1 grams with an estimated street value of P287,640.

Zamora also yielded an undocumented and loaded .45 caliber pistol. The operatives also confiscated the car allegedly being used by the suspects in the distribution of shabu to their clients.

Police said drug syndicates are arming some of their big-time pushers for protection and rewarding them free supplies of illegal drugs for personal use.

Both suspects are detained at the Candelaria police station jail and will face a complaint for illegal possession of firearm and illegal drugs.
