DTI office in Oriental Mindoro on temporary lockdown

CITY OF CALAPAN –– The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office in Oriental Mindoro based in this city has been placed on temporary lockdown starting on Wednesday, March 10, until March 20 for contact tracing and disinfection.

The lockdown is in compliance with the health and safety protocols by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Diseases, according to DTI’s social media post at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

In a phone interview on Thursday morning, Arnel Hutalla, DTI provincial director, said one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19 in an antigen test, but this was still subject to a confirmatory test.

He said the employee had a swab specimen taken for the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test this morning, March 11.

Hutalla said they shut down their office for disinfection on the advice of the City Health Office as a safety precaution.

During the lockdown, DTI’s personnel will be on a “work from home arrangement,” the notice said.

Office operations will resume on March 22, 2021, Monday.

For business name transactions, applications may be filed online at https://bnrs.dti.gov.ph/or walk-in at the nearest Negosyo Center in one’s area.
