30,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines arrive in Cebu City

CEBU CITY –– About 30,000 doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine arrived in this city on Wednesday, March 10.

Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, spokesperson of the Department of Health in Central Visayas, said the vaccines arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport via Philippine Airlines flight PR 1845 at 7:40 a.m.

From the airport in Lapu-Lapu City, the vaccines were transported to the DOH-7 storage facility in Cebu City.

“As to the distribution, these will cover other healthcare workers in hospitals, city health offices, rural health units, and emergency operation centers,” Loreche said.

Loreche earlier said the Astrazeneca vaccines would cover mostly those aged 60 years old and above.
