Pampanga gets more Sinovac vaccines

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO –– The second batch of Sinovac vaccines, totaling 3,255 doses, have arrived at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) here on Tuesday for healthcare workers in Pampanga, an official said.

“We will be deploying all of these vaccines starting tomorrow (March 10) until Saturday,” Dr. Monserrat Chichioco, JBLMGH medical director, told the INQUIRER.

She said the Pampanga provincial government is setting up additional vaccination posts for the purpose.

The vaccine, also called CoronaVac, is made by Sinovac Biotech Ltd. in China.

Chichioco said the provincial government is finalizing the lists of recipients based on the DOH guidelines.

The latest stock arrived after the JBLMGH began inoculating medical frontlines last Monday with the first batch of 846 doses for the health personnel of JBLMGH, Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Provincial Hospital, and Rafael Lazatin Memorial Hospital.

Chichioco was the first to be injected with the Sinovac vaccine in JBLMGH.

She confirmed that Pampanga would receive a share of AstraZeneca doses from the World Health Organization-Covax facility. INQ
