PH, Novavax to sign supply agreement for 30M vaccines on March 10

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines will sign on Wednesday, March 10, a supply agreement with Novavax for 30 million doses of its vaccines, Malacañang said.

“Pipirma na rin bukas, ika-10 ng Marso ng supply agreement with Novavax. Thirty million po yan,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Tuesday in an online briefing.

(We will also sign on March 10 the supply agreement with Novavax for 30 million doses of vaccines.)

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said he is going to India this Tuesday to sign the supply agreement.

Galvez has said the Philippines may also sign a supply agreement for doses of AstraZeneca vaccines manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.

The government has so far signed a purchase order for one million doses of Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine and a supply agreement with Moderna for 13 million doses of its vaccines.

The Philippines has been rolling out its COVID-19 vaccination program using 600,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines from China and 525,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the COVAX facility.
