Boy killed, trike driver hurt in Danao shooting

A 17-year-old trisikad driver was killed while his fellow trisikad driver was wounded in a shooting incident in barangay Looc, Danao City, northern Cebu.

Police said the boy and Jaime Ceballo, 27, were sleeping in their trisikads while waiting for passengers when they were attacked around 1 a.m. yesterday.

Police said a motorcycle with two men on board stopped near the victims before the backrider opened fire.

The assailants drove off after the attack.

The boy suffered gunshot wounds in the right arm and chest. Ceballo was wounded in the left thigh. They were rushed to the Danao City District Hospital where the boy was declared dead by attending physicians.

Police said the shooting happened in a well-lighted area but no one came forward to give eyewitness account.
