MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City local government has approved an ordinance on a private-public partnership (PPP) agreement for the proposed Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) 2.
In a statement Wednesday, the LGU said that the city council approved City Ordinance No. 2021-021, which authorizes Mayor Abby Binay to sign a PPP agreement with LifeNurture Inc. foOsMakr the construction, operation and management of the hospital.
Under the PPP contract, the local government will not spend a single centavo for OsMak 2’s construction, redevelopment and operations, according to Binay.
The hospital, Binay added, will be “equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that include a Cancer Center manned by a multi-specialty team using the best equipment like a linear accelerator for radiation treatment; a Cardiac Center with a cardiac catheterization lab for angiography, open-heart surgery and organ transplantation surgeries; and a Physical Rehabilitation Medical Center that will use robotics in treating joint and soft tissue ailments.”
The hospital will also be located in the city’s first district.
“Our Makatizens from the first district will no longer need to travel to the second district to avail themselves of medical and diagnostic services being subsidized by the city government,” Binay said.
