Rape suspect in Cagayan Valley falls after 23-year manhunt
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities have arrested one of the most wanted men in Cagayan Valley region for a rape incident more than two decades ago.
Eddie Carino was captured during a joint police operation in Brgy. Palenae, Urdaneta City in Pangasinan on Tuesday, Philippine National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas said in a statement.
Carino was the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by Quirino provincial court on Jan. 5, 1998, for a rape case with no bail recommended.
He is now under the custody of Maddela Municipal Police Station “for documentation and booking procedure prior to the mandatory return of warrant to the issuing court,” Sinas said.
