2 alleged marijuana users collared in Lucena

LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested two suspected users of weeds (marijuana) in separate operations here early Wednesday.

Lieutenant Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, identified the suspects as Gabriel Arevalo, 24, and Mark Erickson Montellano, 21.

A report said anti-illegal drug operatives collared Arevalo after being caught in a tricycle in Barangay Ilayang Iyam around 12:45 a.m.

Arevalo was carrying a sachet of marijuana weighing 1.28 grams and a glass tube used for smoking the weed.

Earlier, another police team busted motorcyclist Montellano at a random checkpoint while presenting his driver’s license. He was carrying a sachet of marijuana worth P660 and a glass tube.

The suspects were detained at the city police jail and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
