SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija –– The president of the senior citizens’ organization here was gunned down by unidentified assailants on Sunday, Feb. 28, police said.
Investigators identified the fatality as Domino de la Peña, 69, of Barangay San Francisco in this town.
The police said the suspects, who wore face masks and shirts marked with the police logo, went to the victim’s house where they shot him.
The assailants also poked a gun at the victim’s wife, who pleaded for mercy.
Citing witnesses, police said the suspects fled on board a motorcycle towards Barangay Lambakin in Jaen town.
An investigation is still ongoing to determine the assailants and the motive behind the attack. INQ
