Storm – free March possible, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines —A storm-free March is possible, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

“For this year, March 2021, zero or one po ang ating inaasahan na bagyo. Ibig sabihin posibleng wala tayong bagyo for this month of March, or pwede ring magkaroon tayo ng at most isa,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said in a weather forecast issued at 4 a.m.

(We are expecting zero to one storm. This means it is possible that we would not have any storm this month, or we could have at least one.)

He also said that there is no low pressure area expected to enter Philippine area of responsibilitythis week.

Meanwhile, Pagasa’s forecast for this Monday showed that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Easterlies are warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.

“Ngayong araw asahan ‘yung katulad na weather noong mga nakaraang araw, partly cloudy skies o sunny weather sa umaga then sa tanghali medyo mainit at maalinsangan,” Estareja added.

(Today, we can expect the same weather condition as in the previous days. It will be partly cloudy or sunny in the morning, and then we will have hot and humid weather at noon.)

Metro Manila: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 16 to 25 degrees Celsius
Laoag City:  23 to 33 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay City: 23 to 30 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cebu City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
