Pampanga Archbishop Lavarias contracts Covid-19

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Archbishop Florentino Lavarias, head of the Archdiocese of San Fernando in Pampanga, has tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.

Fr. Francis Dizon, the vicar general, confirmed this in a circular he and chancellor Fr. Danny Nacpil issued on Sunday.

They said Lavarias, 64, “remains in stable condition.

People who had close contact with the Church leader have been informed of his condition. They include several priests, according to an Inquirer source.
