Drug suspect slain in Naga City bust

LEGAZPI CITY –– A drug suspect subject to illegal possession of firearms search was killed in a police operation in Naga City, Camarines Sur, on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, spokesperson of the Naga City police, said operatives were about to serve a search warrant on Dario Galon at his residence in Barangay Del Rosario of the city at 10:50 p.m. when the latter ran upstairs to get a caliber .38 gun and fired at the police officers.

Policemen fired back, hitting Galon, Bongon said in a report.

Bongon said the suspect was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead at 12:54 a.m., Friday.
