2 drug personalities nabbed in Mindoro

CITY OF CALAPAN –– Two suspects in the drug watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Mindoro police were arrested in separate operations on Thursday, Feb. 25, authorities said Friday.

The first to fall was Victor Fabila, 30, a mechanic, in a combined operation by the local police and the PDEA about 1 p.m. on Thursday in Barangay Poblacion of Bulalacao town, said a report from the PDEA in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan).

He was caught possessing 12 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, each containing about a gram of suspected shabu (crystal meth), said a report from the PDEA in Mimaropa.

Fabila was in the top 10 of the unified target list of the police and the PDEA in the province, the report added.

In Occidental Mindoro province, another high-value target was caught during a buy-bust operation on Thursday in Barangay Central of San Jose town.

The suspect, John Christian Galang, 24, was arrested by police and anti-drugs operatives at 3:45 p.m., said a PDEA-Mimoropa report.

He was caught allegedly possessing three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.

Also seized from Galang were a mobile phone, a motorcycle, and the buy-bust money, the report added.

Both drug personalities would face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PDEA-Mimaropa said.
