2 kids, injured teen under police protection
POLICE are securing the two children and 17-year-old Ric-ric Larano Beronguis, who survived the June 9 bloodbath.
The children are in a safe house under the supervision of DSWD with 24-hour police guard.
Ricric is also secured by police in a hospital in Cebu City because “there’s a chance the assailants would come back for them” said Lapu-Lapu police chief, Senior Supt. Anthony Obenza.
The case may lead to the solution of other Metro Cebu robberies, he said. Obenza met yesterday to coordinate information with police officers from Mandaue, Cebu City, Cebu province and other towns.
Photos of crime suspects will be shown to witnesses of other cases, such as the MLhuillier van robbery this year and the 2008 heist of Cebuana Lhuillier.
“Daghan jud ta ma solve nga incidenti ani kay napa daw ni sila daghan igo according to our sources,” said Obenza.
Cebu City police provided profile data on Kuratong Baleleng members involved in robberies in the city, said Chief Inspector Romeo Santander.
Canillo’s name was part of the databank.
The Kuratong Baleleng was held responsible for the 2001 robbery of bank employees in P. del Rosario Street and other financial establishments in the city. With Correspondent Chito Aragaon.
