Guard found dead after spat with wife

A security guard was believed to have shot himself dead after an argument with his wife in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City past noon yesterday.

Wilijado Tagapan, 58, was found in his room with a gunshot wound in the mouth.

His .38 caliber revolver and a bottle of liquor was beside him. The bullet exited in the nape.

His wife, Editha, told police they had a heated argument around 10 a.m.

Editha, 61, said her husband had complained that she was treating their children and grandchildren better than him.

They each had children from previous relationships but none as a couple.

Around noontime, the wife, who was in the living room, heard a gunshot and rushed to their bedroom where she found her spouse bloodied.

Police said there were no signs of struggle inside the room where the victim was found.

In a separate incident, a 48-year-old man was found hanging dead in his house in barangay Basak-San Nicolas, Cebu City.

Rolando Cabalquinto had a rope tied around his neck when his son found him suspended from the ceiling.

The victim’s son Jobert told police his father had been suffering from tuberculosis.
