MANILA, Philippines — San Juan allocated P150 million for the hospital treatment for those who will experience negative effects after getting inoculated against Covid-19, City Mayor Francis Zamora said Wednesday.

“We have about 150 million pesos of funding for medical assistance. Binanggit din ng DOH [Department of Health] na ganoon ang gagamitin nila ‘yung pondo nila sa medical assistance program ang pangbakuna ng panggamot sa mga posibleng magkaroon ng adverse reactions so we will basically do the same, except, locally, mayroon kaming sariling pondo din,” said Zamora in a press conference in San Juan City Hall, when asked about funds for those who will have adverse effects in the city’s vaccination program.

“Given the fact we are small city with relatively huge budget, if you would compare to number of constituents, malaki laki ang pondo ng San Juan. Hindi kailangan mag-alala. We don’t need an indemnification fund for this because we have more than enough already in our 2021 budget,” the mayor added.
