Ex-Olongapo mayor Gordon dies of cardiac arrest

OLONGAPO CITY—Former Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. died on Tuesday due to cardiac arrest.

People close to Gordon’s family said he died at St. Luke’s Medical Center.


Gordon served as this city’s mayor from 2004 to 2013 and congressman in the first district of Zambales from 1995-2004. He is the younger brother of Sen. Richard Gordon.

He is survived by his wife Anne Marie and their daughter Amelie Jane.


Flags at the city hall and Rizal Triangle were lowered to half-staff to pay tribute to Gordon.
