52 latest to beat COVID-19 as recoveries outpace new infections in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—At least 57 more people had beaten COVID-19 in Zambales on Sunday, raising the province’s tally of recoveries to 850.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said most of the latest recoveries involved construction workers.

On Jan. 31, the highest single-day record of infections in the province since the pandemic began was recorded after an outbreak was reported in a construction site.

Bueno said at least 20 more workers are now recovering in a hospital.

Bueno also reported two new confirmed cases in the province. Both are from Castillejos town and have relatives who had also tested positive for the virus.

The new cases brought the tally of infections in the province to 904 and remaining active cases to 34. The province has 19 fatalities.
