Pagasa: LPA off GenSan; rain showers expected in parts of Visayas, Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines — The trough or extension of a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao regions on Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its Sunday morning weather update, Pagasa said the LPA was last located 1,010 kilometers east of General Santos City.
“Mababa ang tsansa nito na maging bagyo pero inaasahan po natin na magdadala ito ng pag-ulan sa bahagi ng Visayas ganun din sa Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
(This LPA has a slim chance of developing into a storm but we expect that it will bring rains to parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.)
Pagasa’s forecast also stated that the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is currently affecting Northern Luzon.
