38 drug suspects fall in 2-day police operations in Cavite

LUCENA CITY – Cavite police arrested 38 drug suspects in a two-day synchronized operations in the province on Feb. 5 and 6.

The alleged drug pushers were nabbed by anti-narcotic agents in 23 buy-bust operations in the cities of Cavite, Dasmariñas, Bacoor and the towns of Tanza, Kawit, General Mariano Alvarez, Maragondon, Naic, Alfonso and Mendez, Police Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police director, said in a report posted on social media Saturday afternoon.

Authorities seized a total of 107 plastic sachets of shabu (crystal meth), 10 sachets of dried marijuana leaves, an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be from drug sales, and drug paraphernalia.

The volume and street value of confiscated illegal drugs was not specified in the report.

The police also arrested 10 wanted criminals and seven other suspects in various crimes and law violations.

A total of 129 individuals were taken into custody for violations of health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the province.  Report said they were found either not wearing face masks or violating curfew hours.

“We will continue our unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal activities within the province and will keep on reinvigorating its anti-criminality campaigns,” Santos vowed in the report.
