MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with a possible rain showers are expected in most parts of the country on Saturday, the state weather bureau said.
In its 5 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the tail-end of a frontal system is affecting the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.
Because of the tail-end of frontal system, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms is expected over Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, and Quezon.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is affecting weather conditions in Northern Luzon, therefore bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa weather specialist ShellyIgnacio said that cloud bands outside of the Philippine area of responsibility are being closely monitored as these may develop into a low-pressure area.
