TUGUEGARAO CITY –– This city has been placed on a less restrictive general community quarantine (GCQ) starting Feb. 4 until Feb. 10 to help revive the local economy, officials said on Thursday.
In a news briefing, Mayor Jefferson Soriano said the city remained a “high-risk” area for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) even after emerging from a 19-day enhanced community quarantine.
He said the Inter-Agency Task Force has allowed the city to relax its restrictions so businesses could open on limited capacities.
But while on a GCQ status, a liquor ban is still in effect, and the local government would continue to monitor violators of minimum health standards, Soriano said.
He said they had warned local noodle houses for reportedly breaching the physical distancing protocols.
The city has recorded 1,315 COVID-19 cases, with 287 active cases, since the pandemic began last year. INQ
