2 men wanted for child abuse arrested in Calapan City
CITY OF CALAPAN—Two men wanted for child abuse cases were arrested by police on Wednesday (Feb. 3) here.
Police from Calapan and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) region arrested Teresito Dagus, 57, at the village of Managpi around 11 a.m., and Federico Domingo, 50, at the village of San Rafael past noon.
A report by Calapan police said warrants of arrest, both dated Jan. 25, had been issued for the two men for violation of the anti-child abuse law, or Republic Act No. 7610. No details were given by the report to protect the children victims.
The warrants were issued by Cefelene Goco, presiding judge at Family Court Branch 11, Fourth Judicial Region in this city.
Dagus is allowed to post an P80,000 bail while Domingo, P200,000.
The two are in custody of the Calapan police and would be turned over to the court that issued the arrest warrants.
