2 of 3 suspects arrested after foiled robbery in Ecija courier outlet

SANTA ROSA, Nueva Ecija —Three men were caught in the act of robbing a money transfer and forwarding outlet here on Tuesday (Feb. 2) and two were arrested, police said.

Maj. Fortune Dianne Bernardo, municipal police chief, identified the suspects as Bernardo Tan, 47, a driver; Ian Sebastian, 30, a construction worker; and a certain Garry Pioquinto.

Bernardo said the three destroyed the padlock of the roll-up door and tried to break the secondary glass wall of LBC Express at the village of Cojuangco around 4:30 a.m.

A concerned citizen alerted authorities, which prompted policemen to immediately respond.

Tan and Sebastian were arrested at the scene but Pioquinto managed to escape.
