THE Department of Science and Technology in Central Visayas (DOST-7) launched the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) Catalogue at its conference room in sitio Sudlon, barangay Lahug, Cebu City, last Jan. 20.

The catalogue includes 91 pages of best products and designs from 42 of the 82 small and medium enterprises in the region enrolled in SETUP.

It also features the stories of beneficiaries before and after the project was introduced to them. “SETUP is one of the best programs of the DOST,” said regional director Rene Burt Llanto in his opening remarks.

He said the program is unique since this is the first time that DOST helped enterprises directly, which means that that S and T is not only dedicated to research and the academe.

The unveiling was also graced by communications specialist Conchita Bigornia, who wrote all the 42 stories; lawyer Alejandro Florian Alcantara, owner of Raw Brown Sugar Milling Co., who represented the featured beneficiaries; and Edilberto Paradela and Bernarda Perez of DOST-7.
