10 arrested in drug raid in Zamboanga Sibugay capital

PAGADIAN CITY — Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the local police arrested on Friday, Jan. 29, 10 persons suspected of maintaining a drug den where crystal meth is packed and sold in Ipil town, capital of Zamboanga Sibugay province.

The authorities raided the den located in the village of Tenan in the course of a buy-bust operation.

Arrested were Zoraine Abdulla, Jimaima Ascalon, Mansol Ascalon, Marie Piang, Alonto Sarahento, Heiren Hamid, Hajirin Mohammad, Muradz Marani, Mucsin Amputo alias “Bapa,” Saddam Yunus and Ramse Abdulla.

Seized were 23 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing about 20 grams worth P136,000.00 and items used for repacking and using meth.

Cases are expected to be filed against the suspects for illegal drug trafficking.
